WHAT IS BATCH BLOGGING?
If you love to blog but struggle to stay consistent, batch blogging might be something you want to consider. It can keep blogging fun, consistent and help you stay on top of your blog posts leaving you time to create content elsewhere and have a life too!
Batch blogging is something I do all the time. It’s basically writing a few blog posts all at once, getting them ready to post when the time is right. This helps you to stick to your blogging schedule and allows you some breathing space so you’re not writing every blog post the night before or even the day the blog post is due to be posted.
Get in the Blogging Zone!
Although organisation is one of the key reasons for writing your blog posts all at once, one of my favourite reasons is once you are in the “blogging zone” and are feeling creative you might as well write more posts whilst you feel that way, rather than always trying to get into the zone for every blog post.
When I am batch blogging I usually write a number of posts all at once in a draft form, with little to no editing. Another day I then edit, add photos and schedule them ready to go live.
I think it is good to take a break from your posts and come back and read them with a fresh pair of eyes. This way you may have things to add or can remove parts which are not needed.
Although it will take a few hours to write some blog posts, how many you end up with depends on your writing speed and the length of your posts. It is worth it to always have content ready to go when you need it.
This doesn’t mean you can’t add in new posts either. If something comes up which you want to blog about then you always move your scheduled posts around. The one thing I love about running your own blog, is you own it. This means if you decide to change up your posts and move things around, you can do!
If you haven’t tried batch blogging before, give it a try. It might be the thing you’ve been looking for to give yourself some organisation and stay on top of your blogging goals!
