VLOGMAS 2019

Why Vlogmas?
It’s been a challenging few months & I wanted to get back into some content creation momentum. I also plan to start regular videos here on The Content Edit so it made sense to get back into my grove in a more relaxed way & create some daily vlogs.
Vlogmas has forced me to get back in front of the camera, get used to editing again & also pushed me each day to keep up with the challenge.

Tips for Vlogmas
If you want to complete Vlogmas next December or do any video challenge in the future then here are a few tips to help you:
1 – Get on top of other priorities – Making videos & adding in editing every single day on top of your usual daily tasks is probably the biggest challenge. It helps if you’re already on top of some of your tasks to free up some space in your day to dedicate it to Vlogmas.
2 – Have things planned – It’s nice to have other things planned when vlogging so your content changes. My favourite videos were my ones from a trip to London. It keeps things different for both you & your audience.
3 – Take cover photo images – This was one thing I kept forgetting to do which was frustrating! Take a photo for your cover – As I was uploading to YouTube & IGTV I also needed different images to fit the correct photo dimensions.
4 – You have to push yourself – There were a few days, especially towards the end where I had lots happening the build-up to Christmas & I didn’t feel like vlogging. What kept me going was the fact I wanted to complete Vlogmas so I pushed on regardless.
5 – Keep on sharing – I could have improved on sharing my videos with my audience. In the future, I will also upload them to Facebook as another place to reach my audience.

If you’re wanting to push yourself, put your face on camera more & complete something which feels like a great accomplishment then I would recommend giving Vlogmas a try next year!
