One of the things I’ve found is many people at networking don’t like it. They are also nervous, unsure and don’t like starting up conversations with strangers.

It’s a great way to start a conversation and since I’ve been using this, every person has always said yes! The first time I tried it, I couldn’t believe how excited the people were to have me join them, this had never happened to me before at a networking event.
Afterall, networking is about making connections, potential collaborations and a great way to let people know what you do. You don’t want to leave the event wishing you’d talked to more people. So next time you are at an event, use the phrase and you’ll be amazed how much easier it makes starting those initial conversations!
