I must admit, Instagram is my favourite social media platform. It has been for a while, I love the images, the connections and the inspiration. However, it can be a challenge to know what to post each day.
In today’s video, I am sharing how you can plan your Instagram account to save you time and stop you looking in despair at your blank phone screen!

My Instagram Planning Process:
1 – Sign up for an app which allows you to schedule my favourite is Buffer and I also like Planoly!
2 – Decide if you want to have a theme to your grid, for example, will you have a quote every 7 images?
3 – Make a note on paper of the days of the week and add the corresponding dates to them
4 – Pick out any upcoming hashtag days such as #internationalwomensday #nationalpizzaday
5 – Add any relevant dates to the appropriate date on your list
6 – Make a note of any other things you will want to share such as Travel Tuesdays or an upcoming blog post
7 – Find your images to fit your needs for each day
8 – Add your images and write a caption on Buffer using your computer
9 – When it’s time to post you will get a notification on your phone. Open Instagram and ensure you’re on the correct account then go to your Buffer account and click share. This will pull through the image and paste the caption ready for you to paste and then share – Remember to add your hashtags too!

To begin with, you might only want to a schedule a few days or a week but you can then build up to longer periods of time. Remember you can always move your posts around if you change your mind or something comes up – It’s your account so you can do what you like!
