3 WAYS TO GROW YOUR INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT

Everywhere I look online people are complaining about their Instagram accounts not growing. Instagram, does keep changing its algorithm meaning many of your posts are not being seen. It’s not the time to despair just yet!
For me, Instagram is still my favourite social media platform. I love the images and creativity on Instagram. It’s a great place to find new people to connect with and I also enjoy watching peoples stories.
At our company CST Creative, we manage a number of social media accounts and Instagram is the one account many of our clients want to grow the most. This means we’ve tested lots of things, done our research and seen what works for these accounts. Of course, because Instagram keeps changing it’s important to keep up to date.

Here are 3 tips too help you grow your Instagram account
1 – Be clear what you do – It seems obvious but is it clear in your Instagram bio what you do and what your followers can expect to see on your feed if they follow you. Keeping your bio clear means not only will you gain followers who know what to expect from you but you’ll also gain followers who are more likely to engage and potentially be a client, collaborator or just a good supporter of yours in the future.
2 – Engage with hashtags – By using relevant hashtags on your posts you are more likely to be discovered. Use ones which relate to what you do, what your image is about and also what your potential followers could be searching for. You can use 30 hashtags in your post (or in the first comment) so make the most of them!

3 – Follow people yourself – A great way to engage with new people on Instagram is follow accounts yourself. If you’re not following people, how can you expect the same in return? Follow, like and comment on posts you have genuinely enjoyed or connect with. When it comes to social media it’s a long game and thousands of followers won’t appear (organically) overnight but if you consistently show up, engage, provide great content and use hashtags then people are likely to want to connect with you and your account.
Remember though, Instagram does keep changing and to be sure you keep connected with people it’s a really good idea to have your own email list so you can keep in touch with people via email. Click here to join The Content Edit VIP Club.
